Zambia Grains - Silverlands Zambia Limited (SZL) and Silverlands Agriculture Services (SASL)
SZL is a grain farming business that owns an irrigated farm comprised of four contiguous titles on the Luwombwa River near Serenje town in Zambia. SZL predominantly grows soya beans in the Summer and wheat in the Winter. The area covered by the farms amounts to 6,180ha of which approximately 3,200ha is suitable for arable farming. The initial strategy to develop 1,600ha of irrigated croplands has now been completed. There is also a young eucalyptus plantation.
SASL is a grain farming business that grows wheat, seed-crops and soya beans on a farm on the Kakushi River on the eastern edge of the Mkushi Farm Block in Central Province, Zambia. The farm was formed by buying two adjacent titles with an aggregate area of 5,560ha and the objective to develop up to 1,300ha of irrigated land. A new management hub and associated infrastructure was created, and a dam completed in 2016.
